Maintain the algorithmic and statistical analysis of several cancer biology experiments pertaining to metabolism, genomic instability, linear modeling, and DNA/RNA sequencing. Assist in the exploration of several key characteristics of prostate, uveal, and small cell cancers utilizing modern genomic tools and bioinformatic approaches. Involved in guiding the scientific exposure and research experience of undergraduates and training incoming technicians involved in the computational analysis within the lab. Supervise the bioinformatic operations and computational analyses of all experimentation going through the UCLA Metabolomics Center.
Worked on the advancement of in silico algorithms for the optimization of the cell quantification tool known as Cell Epigenetic Fingerprint Identifier (CEllFi). Characterized immune-cell specific CpG island regions by their methylation patterns as ideal markers for quantification. Developed novel algorithms that estimate cell composition within mixed samples utilizing reduced representation bisulfite-sequencing data acquired from both public and experimental datasets.
