Hi, my name is Georgia. I currently a second year Flinders University student studying the my Bachelor in Business majoring in Spots Management. I have successfully completed my Diploma of Sports Management with the Port Adelaide Football Club in 2025 and enjoyed that once in a lifetime experience with the club, achieving a casual position out of it in the Community team. (Power Community Limited) I chose to study the Diploma of Sport Management with the Port Adelaide Football Club as I have a huge interest in sport. Ever since I was young I have always wanted a job within the sporting field. My sporting experiences are extremely broad, playing basketball from the ages of 6-14 years old, AFL at 13 years old and soccer from the age of 14-16. Now as an independent 19 year old, I have firmly figured that I want my future in the off-field sporting world. By making my choice of choosing to continue into the Bachelor of Business (majoring in Sport Management), I believe this will benefit my future extremely with more knowledge, experience and career pathways.
Throughout this course I study many different aspects of sports management, such as: - The Business of Sport - Sports Marketing - Sport and Community Engagement and Development - Sports Management and Leadership - Sport Event Management - Sport Data and Analytics I also have had the amazing opportunities of all the experiences listed down below.
On this day, I was fortunate enough to be involved on the ADF Veterans Family ay at the RAAF Base in Edinburgh. This day was to show our appreciation and respect towards past and present Australian Defence Force soldiers and their families.
As I am currently working at the Star Discount Chemist, the skills I have picked up so far are retail skills when communicating to customers, precision tooling as I am needed to pack webster packs and they are needed with precision and concentration when putting them together, as well as attention to detail when taking medication from shelves to get put to use for customer packs or scripts, as well as strong customer service with customers.
Within my employment of Drakes Supermarket, I gained many skills, the main ones including skills of stock management with condensing and stocking shelves, retail approach to customers, marketing products to customers, communication with customers whether between the manager or I, teamwork as the grocery assistant role is completed in a team setting and attention to detail making sure the right stock is placed in the correct spots.
