Led the design and development of a new consumer device for electric weeding, while contributing to the design and refinement of other products. Responsible for concept creation, visualisation, CAD modelling, prototyping, and design for manufacture. Developed functional prototypes and ergonomic assemblies for battery-powered and hand-held systems, integrating mechanical, electrical, and usability considerations. Prepared design and concept presentations and provided industrial design support for additional projects. Collaborated closely with mechanical and electrical engineers, suppliers, and stakeholders to translate technical requirements into user-focused, manufacturable solutions. Contributed to the evolution of Zasso’s product portfolio and electric weeding technology.
Designed the second-generation Visum Palm handheld spectrometer, developing aesthetic and functional prototypes for testing and feasibility. Contributed to design proposals for additional in-line monitoring systems used in quality control for the food and pharmaceutical industries. Gained hands-on experience with international collaboration, rapid prototyping, and design for manufacture. Completed the Diploma in Professional Studies as part of this placement year.
