Role Overview: Help Coordinator/ Mentor youth and school leavers to implement strategies to maintain their positive focus and promote success. Develop outline of sessions that will be beneficial for the education and understanding of positive growth. Overall increase the future of young leaders in the local and national communities. Duties: Facilitate weekly learning sessions to encourage youth to develop an importance of ongoing education. Develop new ideas for session to be beneficial for youth’s development. Engage and network with community and stakeholders to identify potential engagement projects. Work together with the local community to increase positive change. Deliver engaging motivational speeches to ignite positive thinking and health lifestyle choices
A proud Aboriginal man born and raised in Cairns, Queensland Australia George Bell is one of the very few Motivational Speakers with an Indigenous bloodline. Georges message is so powerful because he draws from his own struggles such as dealing with cultural identity loss due to the stolen generation, growing up in what was one of the worst suburbs to live in Australia because of drugs, alcohol and violence, being a high school drop out, living on the streets, being a juvenile offender, trying to take his life at 16 and battling severe depression. His gift is the ability to take these struggles combine it with a related topic and motivate the multitudes while empowering each individual. George use an ancient Aboriginal traditional technique called story telling. Storytelling is a form of communication Aboriginal people have used since the beginning of time. History, beliefs and skill based knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation through specific cultural practices, traditions, languages, laws and family relationships. The examples of these traditions are most commonly found through song, dance, art and craft-making. George believes Motivational Speaking is the modern terminology of the Aboriginal tradition.
