Design Engineer at IMI Precision Engineering
The main aspect of this role is finding and offering solutions for pneumatic problems, this is done by offering technical advice as well as designing manifolds and systems to better suit customer needs. I was managing a small number of my own projects at a time while aiding other team members with their projects if necessary.
I started my professional career as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice, this role spanned over a three year period combining on the job learning with day release to an engineering college. The apprenticeship was structured to give a broad knowledge on most of the areas throughout the organisation. By moving around areas such as assembly, machining, production engineering, quality, design and R&D, meant that an appreciation and additional learning was gained from all of the placement roles.
