As a Cloud Strategist, Solutions Architect and Technology Evangelist, I have developed from a background in IT Infrastructure and have over 25 years of experience within the IT industry. I actively maintain certifications and a broad knowledge of the key vendors in Public Cloud (AWS, Microsoft and Google Cloud). However, for the last 2 years, my roles with my current employer have led me to primarily focus on Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace. While many people focus on developing their knowledge of a single vendors technology and solutions, I have intentionally diversified my knowledge across vendors, to allow me to compare and contrast competing approaches and offerings, this helps me to better communicate concepts to customers in terms they understand from other vendor relationships, and enables me to provide informed advice when helping customers choose vendors and technology that align with their needs. Prior to relocating to Sweden in March 2017, I worked as an independent contractor within the UK for almost 10 years, primarily in the Public Sector, performing a variety of roles that included Infrastructure Architect, Security Architect, Solutions Architect and Technical Design Authority. I began my journey to public cloud prior to relocating to Sweden, beginning with Azure and Office 365, although I gained my first Public Cloud certifications in AWS in December of 2016, since then I have been widening my expertise through a combination of study and experience. Outside of work, I am a keen dancer, snowboarder and general nerd. In my spare time I repair and modify retro games consoles, I also teach partner dance classes in Fusion dancing in Stockholm and occasionally internationally. In the past I have been certified as a Snowboard Instructor with the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors. Responsible for pre-sales technical (consulting and solutions architecture) for the Google Cloud business within the Nordic region at Crayon, covering primarily Google Workspace, Google Cloud Platform and Gemini. Acting as Evangelist for Google Cloud products and services within Crayon globally, contributing to internal and external marketing activities, webinars, blogs and speaking at public events. I also own the Google Workspace platform within Crayon and participate in the Governance framework that applies to the Google Platforms and tools utilised by the resell and services businesses within Crayon. Since the merger with SoftwareOne I have also been involved in managing the transition and integration of Google Workspace between the two entities.
Ownership of Crayon’s Services offerings globally with respect to the Google Cloud partnership. Platform ownership of Google Cloud and Workspace tools within Crayon, evangelism for Google Products, responsibility for Google Cloud & Workspace training initiatives across the Crayon Group of companies.
As the Director of Cloud Strategy within the Cloud Services area, I am responsible for supporting both pre-sale and delivery capability within Crayon Group Subsidiaries, as well as working with partners to ensure that Crayon is being adequately prepared to support Public Cloud customers in our key markets. I am heavily involved with our alliance teams for both AWS and Google Cloud, acting as a key technical contact within the partner relationship. I work with the Crayon Group CTO Office, on Skills and process development within the Crayon companies. I support key project deliveries and customer reference cases across the Group, to ensure that Crayon's capabilities are able to be recognised by partners and showcased to customers. I support key global customer accounts and complex customer cases from a pre-sales perspective, especially where opportunities utilise technology from multiple cloud providers, or utilise new or emerging technologies.
I was the senior member of Basefarm's (now Orange Business Services) Public Cloud focused Professional Services team in Sweden. During my 2 years with Basefarm, I supported a number of Pre-Sale activities in the Public Cloud area, both for Basefarm's Nordic customers and for multinational customers of Orange Business Services. I have worked with global brands, such as AkzoNobel, Phillip Morris International and Klarna, in both Cloud Advisory roles (AWS and Azure) and delivery focused roles using IaC (Terraform Enterprise / Cloud). During my time working for OBS's Global customers, I gained a great deal of experience with Transitive Networking, in particular with AWS Transit Gateway, Azure VWAN and Aviatrix.
As a Senior Cloud Architect for Avega Group's Cloud Business unit (Nuvem), I worked for a number of clients as well as assisting with sales activities towards a number of Avega's (and parent company Tieto's) potential customers. The sales activities have been in relation to Public Cloud Migration, Big Data Analytics and IoT services. For a leading client in the Dairy Industry, I lead a competitive process between 3 major public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), to select a preferred platform for a Big Data and IoT solution. For a client in the Financial Services Industry I supported Tieto's RFP BAFO response, as well as acting as the Public Cloud Lead for the Transition and Transformation programme, which included leading the public cloud migration assessment for over 700 of the customers applications.
Within Accenture I provided mentorship for graduate hires in Sweden, developing their knowledge in the field of Cloud. I also hosted study workshops and exam preparation sessions for members of the Accenture team who were looking to gain the AWS Solutions Architect Associate and Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect Certifications. In terms of client work, I was technical lead for two Cloud proof of concept projects at a major retail client, with the first project focusing on AWS and the second project focusing on Azure. I also provided interim technical leadership to a DevOps focused project for a client in the food and beverage industry (covering paternity leave for a colleague), again utilising both AWS and Azure technology stacks. I provided Business Development support, including cost modelling and guidance on the technical solution, in relation to a number of bids, spanning the Media, Energy and Food & Beverage sectors.
