Leading the engineering function for a high-volume, regulated manufacturing site with full accountability for maintenance, asset reliability, compliance, and capital project delivery. Key Achievements: • Lead and mentor a 14-strong team, embedding a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement • Designed and delivered the site’s engineering strategy, aligning technical priorities with business goals • Delivered a £2.5M nutraceutical production line project from scoping to commissioning — on time and under budget • Implemented a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to improve visibility, scheduling, and cost tracking • Co-led a formal PMO governance framework to improve project delivery and stakeholder confidence • Developed a preventative maintenance programme that significantly reduced unplanned downtime • Ensured compliance with all statutory inspections (PSSR, DSEAR, LOLER, LEV, Legionella, EICR) • Championed contractor control, RAMS, PTW systems, and site-wide HSE initiatives
• Maintaining the functionality of a Top-Tier COMAH plant against production schedules whilst ensuring compliance against HSE regulations and statutory inspections. • Gatekeeping and scheduling routine maintenance and outage plans and implementing preventative/predictive maintenance strategies for plant and equipment. • Investigation of local reliability and HSE issues through Root Cause Analysis, leading to the implementation of permanent corrective actions. • Control of Management of Change, document updates and handover to plant engineers.
Based within the reliability department of Syngenta Huddersfield Manufacturing Centre: • Project management and commissioning of a new pump decontamination workshop • Technical analyst for the pump contract management team. Generating and interpreting key reliability KPI’s. • Development and optimisation of the condition monitoring program. From data acquisition, analysis, to reporting. • Task controlling and managing the lubrication department. • Applying RCA techniques to problem solve and implement solutions.
