I’m an HVAC professional who has grown through the industry into an HVAC Supervisor role through hands-on experience, technical knowledge, and leadership.
I supervise engineers, coordinate workloads, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain high standards across all HVAC operations. I take pride in mentoring team members, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to specification.
My role very much picked up where I left it previously working on similar systems and performing related tasks. In addition to this I have also been carrying out work on kitchen extraction systems which includes, diagnostics, fan changes and air handling unit maintenance. My role has expanded within the company, and I now share the responsibility of completing client estimates and quotes. To fulfil this, I need to obtain costs from the suppliers, estimate the time frames and manpower and pull this together to present to clients using the relevant portals. We have an on-call rota where I cover any call outs within South Wales and Southwest England on a 6-weekly basis.
Within JCI I worked in a very similar role to that at Sherwoods, my previous role. I worked on very similar systems and continued to grow my experience by conducting compressor changes, coil replacements, fault diagnostics, PCB replacements, pressure testing, maintenance / PPM and reactive jobs, as well as helping and guiding the apprentices. The contracts that JCI had were within Leisure Centres, Government Buildings, Restaurants, Factories, Nursery's, Retail and Hospitality. . I help the team to the best of my ability and always strive to get the best results.
Within Sherwoods I gained experience working with manufacturers including Mitsubishi, Daikin, Samsung, Fujitsu. Whilst working on these systems I enhanced my skills and knowledge by conducting compressor changes, coil replacements, fault diagnostics, PCB replacements, pressure testing, maintenance / PPM and reactive jobs. This role took me to sites such as Premier Inn Hotels, Poundland, Pizza Express, Nursery's, Retail and Hospitality. Within each of these categories it was important to learn the rules and regulations and to adhere to the sensitive nature of some of the working environments
I took the decision to go self-employed and start my own company. Using previous relationships and through sourcing my own clients I gained work throughout the Midlands, South Wales and Southwest England. My role was to visit the client, diagnose the fault and complete the necessary steps to ensure that the issues were resolved. I kept reports of work, providing clients with a detailed scope of what was carried out as well as invoicing clients with accurate figures.
My role with ARH group required me to carry out responsibilities such as, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs. Repairs would include compressor changes, PCB replacements, pressure testing amongst other things, this was for companies such as Pets at home, Vets 4 Pets, Bon Marche, Marston Pubs and numerous other restaurants, pubs and retail.
