About

I started as software engineer in an R&D environment in Japan. After my return to Belgium I did system engineering work in a production environment (line automatisation and planning). Then I moved to the internal IT organization, as application system engineer (ERP environment). Later I took up managerial positions (see below). First as manager of the application development section and now as department manager focussed on the long term IT planning (both infrastructure and application). I introduced SAP software in our organisation since 1999 and have managed several big SAP projects. Managed the transition to complete outsourcing of the SAP basis and Infrastructure support in parallel with manager's responsibilities. Alongside with Daikin's growth, as part of senior management team, also part of several major Organisational and System landscape transformations. Next to general IT strategy, Focus items are IT Governance, Post M&A Integration, IT Risk, Security & Compliance, Enterprise Architecture practice management positions; 1996-2001: Section manager IT Application Development, 2002-2006: Department manager IT Planning 2007- 2014: Department manager of both IT Planning & IT Infrastructure (containing both IT Operations and Infrastructure development) 2015-2016: Department manager IT Development, 2017-present: Department manager IT Planning containing also IT risk and Compliance, Security, Project portfolio & IT Budget management, Enterprise Architecture. 2023: Promoted to Global Expert Executive

I have been in this position before @IT Center EMEA, but meanwhile a lot has changed, Th company has grown and diversified. Meanwhile a new section "Risk & Compliance" has been established, next to the group of IT architects who have to plan the future landscape and related projects to realize this. My current challenges are the transformation of our IT architecture to accomodate better digital business and connection toi IoT initiatives and the S4/Hana migration and the re-design of our IT Organisaton to better respond to the new challenges and some weaknesses of today.

I return to my roots. My main challenges in the coming years, as department manager, will be to integrate a lot of new staff and staff located in other locations, make a plan to 'migrate' our SAP landscape along the SAP strategy, improve the application development quality measurement system and set-up, defend a standardization program.
