Dr. Geert Driessen is an experienced educational researcher. His expertise lies in the field of education in relation to ethnicity/race, social milieu/SES and sex/gender. His major research interest concerns inequality in education and society. Specific themes are: evidence-based education, education policy (evaluations), school careers; school compositional and contextual effects; religious schools, Islamic schools; parent involvement and participation; pre- and early school education;; bilingual education, dialects, regionale languages, and language development. Geert Driessen has written 500 articles, papers, reports and (chapters in) books, both scientific and popular, and in Dutch as well as in English, Spanish and Turkish.
