I've always been deeply fascinated by the social and cognitive mechanisms through which people learn, collaborate, and make decisions, and I'm excited to take this passion and apply my experience in the social sciences to my career! I have practical and academic experience at the intersection of clinical, cognitive, and social psychology as well as a background in mentorship and mediation, so I'm a people person in every sense of the word. I'm currently seeking opportunities across a wide range of fields: I have an extensive background in childcare and education and find it very fulfilling to support the growth, safety, and autonomy of kids. However, my time in undergrad sparked in me an interest in marketing and customer service, and I am excited to explore prospects in that realm as well!
I assist in leading preschool (2-5y/o) classrooms of 10-15 children in learning through play, behavioral management, and building the foundations for responsibility and routine. I handle frequent interpersonal struggles between children and help them develop mechanisms to effectively solve problems as well as work with other teachers on classroom maintenance and to follow safety and cleanliness guidelines.
I act as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for PSY348 - Statistical Analysis Psychology in Reed’s Psychology Department. I grade assignments, hold routine office hours to help students with the basics of experimental tests and statistics (ANOVAs, t-test, experimental designs, etc.), and individually tutor students that need extra help.
I've acted as leadership for two performing art student clubs on Reed College campus. My roles have included organizing and performing in events with 200 attendees, monitoring expenditures and social media accounts, and facilitating routine meetings and rehearsals. I've worked to foster a professional, positive, and create work environment for student artists and performers to collaborate and present their work.
I’m working as a Housing Advisor for freshmen at Reed to create a supportive living environment for new students. I communicate frequently with my Area Coordinator to ensure that my floor is kept clean and safe, and I organize monthly events for my residents to foster community. In my position, I meditate interpersonal conflicts, offer support to students, and help new students navigate Reed.
I meet biweekly with group of kids ages 6-12 that have lost one or both of their parents and facilitate community circles, work through grief activities (worksheets, games, etc.), and support the kids through play. I completed 25 hours of facilitation training on grief-informed practices.
I worked as a cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, familiarizing myself with customer service and stocking items, and helping guests with a seamless shopping and check-out experience.
I’ve helped put together multiple junior show productions for the Germantown Community Theater, helping to assign roles, block shows, and individually assist students from ages 5-15 in improving their performance abilities.
