As a Community Representative, I am contributing to the planning and launch of the South Asia Newsletter, a new community-driven, bi-monthly publication aimed at connecting Wikimedians across South Asia. I’m actively involved in shaping the vision, content strategy, and collaborative efforts to represent IMDUG (Indic MediaWiki Developers User Group) and highlight regional initiatives. Participating in onboarding and brainstorming sessions to curate impactful content and strengthen communication within the Wikimedia ecosystem.
As an Extended Group Member in the Indic MediaWiki Developer User Group (IMDUG), my role involves actively participating in the growth and development of the MediaWiki ecosystem within the Indic language communities. I will work alongside other developers, planners, and leaders to plan, organize, and execute various activities related to MediaWiki's development, localization, and adoption. Responsibility Included:- 1. Collaborating and Sharing Knowledge:Contribute to discussions, share insights, and offer solutions on technical challenges or community engagement strategies. 2. Planning and Leading Activities:Participate in organizing events such as workshops, hackathons, webinars, or developer sprints that focus on improving MediaWiki's features and usability for Indic languages. 3. Contributing to Development: Engage in development tasks such as writing code, reviewing pull requests, and improving existing features of MediaWiki, especially related to Indic language support. 4. Learning and Training: Stay updated with the latest developments in MediaWiki and share your knowledge with the community. This may include creating tutorials, guides, or training materials. 5. Community Engagement: Support and mentor new developers, fostering an inclusive, diverse, and active community. Help raise awareness about IMDUG's mission and goals within the larger MediaWiki ecosystem.
