“Being myself is what got me to where I am today.” I was 18 when I first raced for a Regatta. Not metaphorically—I literally rowed and rowed. While I was rowing, I thought about quitting approximately 100 times. (And that’s probably an estimate.) But despite the rain, high crashing waves, mental and physical fatigue, and a taste of camaraderie, I kept pushing on. And today, I’m that person. Once I say I’ll do something, it will happen definitely. Now, I put that perseverance to work as a student here at Singapore Management University (SMU). I don’t race for Regattas anymore…but I still draw the most of my energy when I am working with people and teams. Especially, when it helps to bring the best out of both myself and others as well.
