I am an experienced Guernsey Advocate (and English qualified solicitor) specialising in commercial litigation. I am the Managing Partner of the Guernsey office and Guernsey head of our Insolvency and Corporate Disputes Practice. My core practice areas are Directors' Duties, Trusts (contentious and semi-contentious), Professional Negligence and Insolvency. Recent cases include successfully defending the independent directors of Carlyle Capital Corporation Ltd in Guernsey’s longest ever trial and biggest case (by value), taking another Directors’ Duties case to the Privy Council, and a variety of contentious and semi-contentious Trust matters. I am recognised in both Chambers UK and Legal 500 as a leading Disputes Resolution practitioner. I'm also a non-executive direct of the Catholic National Mutual Limited, a (predominantly) property insurance company of the building of the Catholic church and associated bodies across the UK. Finally, I am on the executive committee of the Guernsey Alcohol Advisory Service LBG, a charity that provides services to those experiencing addiction problems. We operate a dry-house and provide counselling services.
