I'm a Chartered Civil engineer working for Arup, I am currently on long term assignment in the Toronto office in Canada. I'm interested in project management, predominantly in civil engineering but I consider myself a generalist. I have recently delivered Operational Readiness Services for the City of Long Beach in California and have been looking at how operational readiness can be implemented outside of the industries it is most commonly associated with (Aviation, healthcare). My background working as a contractor has given me a good practical understanding of delivering engineering projects and I think that has been beneficial as I progress my career in project management.
Working as a site engineer for civil engineering contractor Dawnus Construction. Experience of working on projects in a range of industries; Heavy Industry, Healthcare, Education, Water and Rail. Responsibilities included setting out and dimensional control on site, maintaining site records in particular Quality Assurance, Health & Safety and Environmental. Responsible for ordering all materials, including bulk materials (concrete, aggregate etc). Experience of collating information for BREEAM and CEEQUAL accreditation. CPCS Appointed person with experience planning an executing lifting operations.
