Charted Accountancy Articles at FirstRand with exposure to RMB, FNB and Ashburton RMB Trade and Working Capital I performed a deal maker role in the Africa team for Trade and Working Capital: - Deal Origination; - Modelling the deal to determine competitive pricing and return on shareholder capital; - Taking the deals through Credit and Operational approval processes; - The Africa team focused on cross sector business however I focused specifically on resources, FMCG’s and manufacturing; and - I was also involved in developing new product offerings in RMB and expanding our current product offering. RMB IBD Tax Risk Management Assisting the team in the IBD Tax Risk Management space: - Deal Conclusion Forum (DCF) tax feedback - Tax feedback on proposed structures and deals prior to DCF - SARS assessments that have presented themselves FNB Commercial Property Finance Assisted the FNB Africa Property Team: - Investment analysis into the deal - Preparing the deal write up for FNB Credit This rotation focused on assessing two types of clients: - Owner Occupied clients: o Model the expected future cashflows of the business. o Assess whether the client’s business would be able to meet the capital re-payments over the life of the loan. - Multi-Tenanted Properties (IPRE): o Analysis of future cashflows of the property with which the client was trying to leverage off. o Analysis of the signed leases and type of tenants. o Analysis of expected running costs associated with the property. Ashburton Asset Management Assisted the Finance Team: - 2018 financial year budget. - Responsible for back-office support budget process (Risk, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources and the cross-department costs housed in FRB) - Monthly reporting process
I was responsible for the on-boarding of first year student in terms of their academics as well as ensuring that there were sufficient support structures to help students adjust to university and living in Helderberg Residence.
