As Head of Sales & Marketing for Enel X UK & Ireland, I lead a high-performing, cross-functional team spanning Business Development, Marketing, and Customer Success. Together, we help commercial and industrial organisations unlock the value of energy flexibility, accelerate their path to net zero, and build more resilient, sustainable operations. My role is focused on driving strategic growth, developing go-to-market initiatives, and building a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability. I work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure we deliver innovative solutions that align with client priorities and regulatory frameworks, including SBTi targets, capacity market participation, and decarbonisation goals.
GridBeyond is a leader in intelligent energy technology, helping large industrial and commercial businesses optimize energy use and access flexibility markets. We provide demand-side response, battery storage, and renewable integration solutions, enabling businesses to reduce costs and carbon emissions. As a National Grid-approved aggregator, GridBeyond helps clients monetize energy assets through services like grid balancing and frequency regulation.
My core responsibilities include developing and implementing company sales strategies in order to increase market share and achieve revenue goals whilst maintaining a high level of customer retention. I identify revenue growth opportunities across multiple sectors and ensure that our product mix meets our clients demand. I onboard and work closely with channel partners to further enhance our service offering. I provide leadership and mentoring to team of sales professionals and communicate the companies KPIs and revenue goals. Reporting directly to the Managing Director I am also a member of the leadership team contributing to broader business operations and strategies. Among my personal highlights were the company winning the Australian Business Awards' (ABA) Business Excellence accolade in both 2018 and 2021.
Along with being accountable for a large portfolio of clients my role was to also manage the sales team on a daily basis. I identified areas for sales improvement and ran work shops across an array of subject matter including process improvement, sales training, lead generation, forecasting and CRM management. I worked with team members to develop their individual sales plans and regularly had 1-1s to discuss progress and provide coaching. My personal highlights in the role included over achieving our team revenue goal by 40% and onboarding two key channel partners which cemented our brand in the solar energy space delivering several major projects to some key clients.
Identifying high value targets, developing approach strategies, presenting to C-suite stakeholders, closing and retaining blue-chip clients were amongst my key responsibilities. Designing Key Account Management plans in order to develop and foster long-term client relationships whilst maximizing revenue. Creating touch points and regular contact with clients enabled us to collect almost real-time feedback helping us identify product and service shortfalls and improve/develop our service offerings accordingly. During my 2 years in the role I exceeded both new business and retention revenue goals by over 15%.
I re-joined Blackham Developments in the capacity of Sales Manager and was tasked with increasing our market share in the North West along with expanding out product offerings to meet market demand. Over the course of my time in the role our sales increased by over 20% and continued to grow after my departure.
I always wanted to see more of the world and I took the opportunity to travel across South East Asia and Australia visiting over 9 countries and experiencing many different cultures and life experiences which I value greatly. It was on this trip that I first visited Australia which sowed the seed for my returning there in 2010.
