I am tech lead for our probabilistic demand forecasting and capacity planning tools. In this role I have - developed and deployed a new solution extending capacity planning to our supplier base, including building new enterprise-spanning datasets and setting up production data pipelines. - served as product owner for our core capacity planning tools (for internal facilities) - sole developer of simulations for modeling customer demand (monte carlo simulations, R, extensive data munging) - set up our data engineering infrastructure and trained up our data engineering staff (using snowflake, postgres, oracle, neo4j, teradata, db2, python, dbt, airflow etc) - set up our devops - mentored junior staff, including travel to India for onboarding offshore teammates - managed communications with customers and users, managing bugs and prioritizing feature requests, tetrising work accross jr staff - as needed, but extensive, debugging for varied tech stack (python, R, so many sql flavors, .NET/C#) - many special projects: supplier shortage analysis, inventory volatility, graph-based BOM (neo4j), and many data quality improvement activities tied to the above efforts but with much wider impact.
Data Scientist in engineering division • Portfolio Manager / Steward for Virtual Product Development's Design for Reality theme - $500K-$1M in Budget, ~15 R&D projects supporting product development across wide range of product lines. My team used ML/ROMs, UQ, optimization, automation, statistical modeling, and engineering simulation to deliver internal tools and analysis to internal engineering customers. I've also worked on two major side-projects with adjacent divisions: • Capacity planning: algorithm and software development for internal capacity planning tool • Supply chain optimization: algorithm and software development for internal supply chain optimization
