About

I build the systems behind outcomes people can see. My career sits at the intersection of business, sustainability, social impact and public policy, driven by one question: what needs to exist behind the scenes for people, communities and ideas to reach their full potential? Today, I lead Sustainability, Social Business and Philanthropy initiatives for EssilorLuxottica in Mexico, designing and scaling models that expand access to vision care. I bring together business, philanthropy, government, civil society, academia and health leaders to turn a complex access challenge into lasting infrastructure. In two years, the portfolio I lead grew from MXN $3M to $18M in annual value and from 99,000 to more than 800,000 units, while expanding permanent vision access systems with the potential to reach 3 million people. I also founded OneSight Mexico as an independent nonprofit and have helped develop models for rural access, professional training, social optical businesses and cross-sector collaboration. Before vision care, I worked in sustainable development and regenerative agriculture, where one model I helped lead tripled agricultural yields and increased smallholder income by 50%. The pattern is consistent: lasting impact rarely comes from isolated interventions. It comes from building the conditions, relationships and systems that allow progress to continue. This has increasingly brought my work into public policy and institutional change—from congressional forums and sustainability standards to national SDG processes, global health advocacy and stronger systems for preventive and childhood vision health in Mexico. I keep returning to a broader question: Why are some contributions, systems and people highly visible, while the infrastructure that makes their success possible remains unseen? Care. Prevention. Knowledge. Relationships. Access. The people and systems that build the platform from which others create, lead and succeed. Understanding these invisible systems—and redesigning institutions so contribution, opportunity and value are recognized more accurately—is a central thread in my work, research and writing. I bring 20+ years of experience across corporate strategy, sustainability, social innovation and cross-sector partnerships. I hold an MBA, teach sustainability and related disciplines, and study Political Science. I believe our most complex challenges will not be solved by one sector, one discipline or one heroic leader. They will be solved by people who can see the system—and bring others together to change it.

I lead initiatives aimed at providing access to visual health, including correction and prevention of refractive issues, to vulnerable populations. The Challenge: Uncorrected Poor Vision Uncorrected poor vision is a global issue, affecting 1 in 3 people. Shockingly, 90% of them live in the developing world, often without access to vision care. Yet, 80% of vision problems can be addressed today. Our Vision: Good Vision as a Human Right We believe good vision is a basic human right. It enhances health, education, work, and community development. Our Approach: Three Main Areas of Action - Inclusive Businesses: We empower individuals to create positive change by developing skills, jobs, and infrastructure. We emphasize women's contributions, adapt to local contexts, and evaluate our impact. - Strategic Giving: Our programs ensure vision care reaches underserved communities. We focus on long-term social impact through awareness campaigns, free eye exams, donations of lenses, frames, and local vision care support. - Research Advocacy Awareness: We raise awareness of uncorrected poor vision, a barrier for 2.7 billion people. We advocate for its importance, emphasizing the quality of life benefits. Our Inclusive Business Arm: 2.5 New Vision Generation (2.5 NVG) 2.5 NVG provides vision care to underserved populations. Our models are scalable and impactful, building skilled primary vision care providers and micro-entrepreneurs. This generates employment and reduces poverty. Since 2013, 2.5 NVG has explored various models, including training primary vision care providers, establishing service points, and collaborating with local NGOs. Training modules range from basic screening to certified vocational training. I'm proud to lead these initiatives, working toward a world where everyone can access the visual health they deserve. Feel free to contact me to learn more or discuss collaborations. Together, we can make a difference! 👓🌍 #VisionForAll
