Backend Security Engineer | Cryptography & Distributed Systems | C++ Specialist I am a Software Engineer working at the intersection of high-performance computing and data privacy. Currently, I serve on the Server Security Team at MongoDB, where I bridge the gap between academic cryptography and high-performance distributed systems. Most notably, I am a core contributor to MongoDB's Queryable Encryption initiative, a groundbreaking feature allowing users to run rich queries on encrypted data without ever decrypting it on the server. I am collaborating with a team of cryptographic researchers to take this novel scheme from concept to code in modern C++. This requires implementing complex cryptographic primitives and rigorously optimizing these primitives to minimize the cost of end-to-end encryption. What I bring to the table: Modern C++ Mastery: Extensive experience writing production-grade C++ in a large, complex codebase. I am comfortable solving difficult problems surrounding memory management, concurrency control, and resource constraints in high-load environments. Applied Cryptography & Protocols: Experience with technologies across the security stack, from low-level primitives to standard protocols. This includes TLS 1.3, X.509, SCRAM authentication, AES-GCM encryption, and KMIP key management. Performance & Reliability: I have a history of optimizing cryptographic paths for latency and throughput while ensuring that security guarantees are never compromised. I thrive in environments where engineering rigor meets complex architectural challenges. I am passionate about building secure, robust infrastructure that customers can trust. Core Competencies: C++ • Distributed Systems • Cryptography • Database Internals • Authentication & Authorization • Performance Profiling
