Key responsibilities mainly pertain to: 1) Preparing monthly financial reports to management for budgeting and analysis 2) Preparing monthly balance sheet schedules and bank reconciliations 3) Preparing quarterly GST reports 4) Preparing and posting of monthly journals 5) Preparing consolidation schedules, workings, group financial statements and liaising with the auditors 6) Preparing monthly fund management reports for management and investment committee meetings 7) Project management for Finance-related projects (e.g. upgrading of Finance ERP system, implementation of e-procurement platform and projects involving other government bodies) whereby responsibilities include leading a Projects teams to: a. Plan objectives and timelines b. Procure services (e.g. e-procurement service and project audits) which include the entire process of raising approval papers to management to the evaluation of the submitted proposals c. Liaise closely and communicate plans with internal stakeholders, vendors and project auditors d. Communicate user requirements to vendors and review functional specification documents to ensure all requirements are documented e. Conduct and complete the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with internal stakeholders to ensure all requirements are developed f. Provide support to users after system launch Additional contributions to the organisation: Previously, the preparation of the monthly reports, schedules and bank reconciliation require a huge amount of time spent doing manual work and formatting in Excel. Also, the number of accounts and transactions within the organisation is enormous. I was able to cut down the time required for the manual work and formatting by around 80%, by programming various macros in Excel. Using bank reconciliation as an example, recurring and sales transactions which make up to 90% of the monthly transactions can be reconciled using a macro, allowing the Finance staff to focus on the remaining 10% non-recurring transactions.
Key responsibilities mainly pertain to performing audit engagements with both listed and non-listed clients from a wide range of industries, including but not limited to manufacturing and trading companies, non-profit organisations, financial and education service providers. I have been tasked with the Senior-in-charge role for many of the engagements and am proficient with the audit procedures pertaining to both the Income Statement items and the Balance Sheet items.
