Experienced entrepreneur and technologist with a deep background in infrastructure, systems, software, data, and AI. I hold degrees in Computer Science, specializing in operating systems and databases, along with an MBA. My early career was shaped by 11 years at IBM and Hewlett-Packard, where I gained extensive experience in enterprise and emerging tech, starting back in 1985. In 1996, I transitioned into entrepreneurship, focusing on web infrastructure, search, and software. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve been part of several pioneering ventures, including launching the first paid search startup and creating Silicon Valley’s first VC podcast and a venture-backed podcast network — though we were ahead of the market by about 15 years. Before that, my brother and I were early innovators in web architecture, developing the concept of keyword navigation to replace URLs in browsers and search. Currently, I’m running a self-funded media and software startup, which I’ve been leading with Dave Vellante for 15 years. I’m passionate about podcasting with the smartest "tech athletes" and creating and building new products at the intersection of Media, Technology, and AI — where Computer Science meets Social Science. My deep expertise in infrastructure, systems, software, and AI drives my focus on pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the evolving tech landscape. At my core, I’m an entrepreneur and an accidental podcaster who thrives on creating and innovating in the constantly changing worlds of technology, data, and media.
Launched in 2010, SiliconANGLE theCUBE reshaped Enterprise Tech coverage with its blanket reporting on all things enterprise, rapid-fire blog posts, massive event coverage with LIVE anchor desk, and in-depth tracking of technology waves and market happenings. That later paved the way for a move toward virtual events and scalable SaaS subscription services around video and community. SiliconANGLE is a digital-first media business combining journalism, video, and research to "Extract the Signal from the Noise" in the Enterprise and Emerging Technology industry. This venture is an effort to create a different approach to new media and the future of media. We combine publishing, research, web TV network, and social data network that promotes quality content and quality people - "the Angle" on new and interesting things about the social web and new technology. SiliconANGLE was built from the ground up by John Furrier and Dave Vellante's shared vision of a future that uses technology and data to create quality content and user experiences while creating and growing quality communities. Simply put: To extract the signal from the noise! Our motto: we cover everything "where Computer Science meets Social Science".

15 years too early as it turns out. In 2004 the first podcast covering Silicon Valley, entrepreneurship, and venture capital. I was the founder and CEO of PodTech which was part of the first generation VC backed podcasting startups. I started podcasting in 2004 as the InfoTalk Podcast which became one of the most popular podcasts in Silicon Valley where I interviewed thousands of entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. Raised $5.5 in venture capital to commercialize podcasting. Developed a content platform for cataloging and monetizing podcasts. Pioneered business, web 2.0, and social media solutions for corporations via podcasting. Build an initial blue-chip client base to over 40 companies with top clients billing over $3m per year in social media solutions. PodTech pioneered Web 2.0 online advertising video products in viral social media. The company was part of the venture back class of 2005 (PodTech, Odeo, Podshow) of podcasting startups that failed. In 2006, when we realized there was no business model at the time the only plan that I and a few saw was to continue to build our vision of a platform for the next generation podcasters to ride on next-gen platform like Twitter, Facebook and iPhone. I failed to convince the investors and board of directos so I stepped don as CEO and remained on the board. The company transitioned from a media platform to a video production company and was sold to LA firm in 2008.
