I am an Architectural Designer and Site Engineer with over 5 years of experience across architectural design, CAD drafting, 3D visualization, and residential construction in Turkey and Ireland. My career began in Turkey as an architectural designer, where I worked on residential and commercial projects, developing architectural drawings, creating 3D models, and producing realistic visualizations. I gained extensive experience using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Lumion to transform concepts into detailed designs and presentation-ready models. This design-focused foundation gave me a strong understanding of space planning, construction detailing, and the practical relationship between design and execution. Seeking to broaden my technical expertise, I transitioned into engineering and construction, where I have spent the past several years working on large-scale residential developments in Ireland as a Site Engineer. My responsibilities include engineering control, drawing coordination, QA/QC inspections, setting out and surveying using Total Station and GPS equipment, and supporting the successful delivery of projects while ensuring quality, safety, and programme compliance. My overall duties ; • Carried out daily site walks to review planned works, coordinating closely with bricklayers and groundworkers to ensure readiness of work areas. • Proactively identified setting-out, excavation, and sequencing requirements to facilitate smooth progress and avoid delays on site. • Managed and monitored landscaping works, including boundary walls and external layouts, ensuring compliance with approved drawings. • Inspected incoming precast elements, including stairs and concrete units, by checking on-site measurements against design specifications. • Checked compliance of delivered concrete and mortar, took samples, prepared cube and prism specimens, and coordinated testing in line with QA procedures. • Performed daily setting-out and mark-ups using Topcon GPS for structural walls, landscaping, fencing, paving, and external works. • Supported subcontractors by providing accurate levels, dimensions, coordinates, and setting-out information in accordance with construction drawings. • Verified groundworks and substructures prior to timber frame installation to ensure dimensional accuracy and alignment with design requirements. • Attended weekly coordination meetings with the Site Manager, Project Manager, and subcontractors to review progress, resolve issues, and plan upcoming works. • Carried out level checks, GPS pick-ups, and as-built surveys for roads, drainage, and underground services, preparing documentation for submission to Irish Water. • Distributed up-to-date construction and engineering drawings to subcontractors and provided on-site technical support as required. • Contributed to the delivery of a large-scale residential development, overseeing structural works, drainage and services, timber frame and block-built structures, roads, landscaping, paving, and external works, while supporting site and construction management activities across all stages of the project.
- Review information from drawings, specifications, etc. to foremen, operatives, subcontractors, so that they clearly understand what is required. - Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion. - Directing subcontractors in some instances with regard to works to be carried out. - Ensure that detailed reports, diaries and records (hard and soft copies), including photographic records, in relation to all aspects of progress of the works are kept and available for inspection by authorised personnel. - Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs. - Set out the works and ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided. - Oversee onsite & offsite constructions to monitor the building safety regulations. - Review the work progress on daily basis. Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status. - Maintained up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation for company adherence.
- Assist with the BIM implementation on Projects ensuring effective project set-up, workflows and compliance with company procedures and protocols. - Co-ordination and collaboration with external design team members and work colleagues. - Modelling & Drawing Production using Sketchup, Autocad, Lumion etc. - 3d models contributing to project planning, design and assisting in preparation of planning applications - Elevated level of detail in architectural renderings using Revit software, leading to more realistic visualisations. - Utilised CAD software to create detailed building plans. - Worked closely with structural engineers, enhancing the stability of designs. - Creation of 2D drawings, vehicle swept path analysis, and the detailed modelling of roads and utilities in Civil 3D
- Inspect new constructions, renovations, or existing structures to ensure compliance with regulations. - Examine foundations, structural framing, roofing, insulation, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems. - Perform inspections at various stages of construction (pre-pour, framing, final inspection, etc.). - Ensure buildings comply with local and national building codes, including: Fire safety Accessibility (e.g. for disabled persons) Energy efficiency Zoning laws - Check compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. - Review architectural and engineering drawings to verify construction matches approved plans. - Cross-check permits, licenses, and other legal documentation. - Confirm that materials used meet regulatory and structural standards.
