My interests and expertise are mainly in the area of (bio-)organic chemistry. I worked as an organic chemist during my MSc/PhD/PostDoc time (total = 6 years) with focus on the isolation und derivatization of natural compounds (mainly mycotoxins) and still publish and have projects in this field. Since 2015 I am working as Project Manager/Senior Researcher and are dealing with bioelectrochemistry ranging from sensor characterization till surface functionalization with biomolecules. In addition to this, I am responsible for project acquisition, personnel and finances.
Responsible for the area of organic surfaces and sensing as well as the coordination of all scientific activities at the Center for Electrochemical Surface Technology (CEST GmbH, www.cest.at). A broad spectrum of tasks ranging from conference organization (COAST, https://coast.cest.at/) to negotiations with funding bodies, companies and universities. In addition, acquisition, financial, administrative and project work as well supervision of PhD/MSc students (team size ~10 employees).
Area Manager / Team Leader for our site in Tulln (~10 people). Focus on bioelectrochemistry and organic surfaces and embossed polymers. Tasks as before, plus site management, company representation at industrial and political meetings, conferences and consortium meetings.
Responsible for the area Bioelectrochemistry/Biosensing. Responsible for project management, project and funding acquisition, supervision of technicians, students and responsible for financial issues.
Project Manager/Lab Head. Responsible for the derivatization of starch with focus on process evaluation, design and scale up. I quit after 4 weeks for my job at CEST.
Isolation, purification and characterization of mycotoxins and metabolites. Chemical synthesis and derivatization of new or potential Phase-II-metabolites including their structure elucidation.
PhD student within the Applied Bioscience Technologies (AB-Tec) graduate program. Main education in synthetic organic chemistry, analytical chemistry (HPLC, NMR, structure elucidation), natural compound chemistry and metabolites.
