I am a civil servant with the Dutch Government. I work at ODI where I help build eco-systems between de Government and the Academic community to help maintain and grow Digital Skills needed for the Digital Transformation of our society. I also work as a freelance Program Manager for iBestuur where I have the responsibility for the content of all iBestuur events. I as an independent Business Community Builder and have spent over '10.000 hours' in "organizing value" by connecting people, ideas and organizations in eco-systems and Business Communities since 1988 (Computer User Group NL, part of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, first European Chapter of the Association for Strategic Alliance Professionals). I have been invited to speak at or moderate numerous events around the world. I have presented in Armenia, Australia, Belgium, Costa Rica, Ghana, England, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Morocco, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Rwanda, South-Korea, Sri Lanka, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States and the Netherlands I co-host two podcasts; the I4ADA Dialogues and 'The Brand Called You' and am a guest host/ webinar moderator for AIforGood and iBestuur. I advise and coach organizations and other communities on building eco-systems community building, collaboration and strategy - the shift from “Command-and-Control” to "Connect-and-Collaborate" thinking. Examples include I-Partnerschap, IT-Circle Netherlands, IPBPM - Portugal, General Council - Netherlands, The Dutch Government Innovation Community, Innovation Network Flemish Government, I work on a couple of pro-bono projects including the the Institute for Accountability in the Digital Age (I4ADA) instigated by UNESCO, ITU's AI for Good Global Summit, YPO's Global Impact Summit and Digital Africa. I have written various articles for BPtrends, Executive People and BPMagazine. I have developed my expertise through various senior commercial positions with a number of organizations including Logica, Cambridge Technology Partners, Ordina and Staffware/Tibco.
Het I-Partnerschap Rijk-Hoger Onderwijs is een unieke structurele samenwerking tussen het hoger onderwijs en de Rijksoverheid op IT-gebied. Via bijvoorbeeld stages, groepsopdrachten of innovatielabs werken studenten, onderzoekers en rijksorganisaties samen aan innovatieve oplossingen voor maatschappelijke vraagstukken uit de digitale praktijk. Zo levert het I-Partnerschap een belangrijke bijdrage aan een snelle, veilige en betrouwbare digitale dienstverlening voor burgers en bedrijfsleven. Nu en in de toekomst. Als relatie/alliantie manager ben ik verantwoordelijk voor het duurzaam bij elkaar brengen van personen en het verbinden van organisaties op relevante I-Partnerschap thema's.
The 'Stichting iBestuur' is responsible for the organization of iBestuur Congres on Wednesday September 11th . This annual one day conference brings together the who's who in Dutch Government for Digital. iBestuur, part of Sijthoff Media, furthermore organizes events through out the year on topics like GovTech and AI.

Founder and have been Chair of iPoort since the beginning and switch to co-chair in 2022. A part of the international press centre Nieuwspoort, The Hague. iPoort is a community which aims to promote the positive value and fundamental position digital technology has on the Dutch society. We organize regular sessions with Dutch politicians, the government, private industry and various relevant ICT organizations/associations.
I chair the ‘Institute for Accountability in the Digital Age’ (I4ADA) based in The Hague. The institute was set up at the instigation of UNESCO to seek 21st-century solutions on how to manage accountability in the Digital Age. To help find these solutions I4ADA is building a global multi stakeholder community consisting of national and local governments, international policy makers and institutes, NGOs, civil society, the ICT industry and platforms, as well as other relevant organizations. This institute organized the inaugural 'The Hague Summit for an Accountable & Democratic Internet - an internet of Values' on May 31st and June 1st 2018 in the Peace Place. The Summit was organized in partnership with the city of The Hague, the ministry of the Interior and Kingdom relations and 2 UN agencies ITU and UNESCO. The Second Hague Summit for Accountability in the Digital Age was organized November 6-7th 2019 in the Peace Palace, The Hague. I4ADA is invited to offer contributions to other organizations on a regular basis. I4ADA is building up a database of I4ADA Dialogues with people from around the world to gather their views on Accountability in the Digital Age.
