After several years at managerial level, I decided to work more actively on projects again. Focus on complex multidisciplinary building projects (competitions, public sector, private sector, design & build). I'm mainly responsible for the multidisciplinary project management, but happy to stay involved in the design in the conceptual phase.
In Tractebel's organization, the Geographical Entity Belgium is active in different areas (products): Nuclear, Gas, Buildings & Complex Structures, Transport & Cities and Ports & Waterways. Tractebel offers services in all kind of disciplines: structural engineering, acoustics, building services, fire engineering, breeam assessment, geotechnics, etc. I'm part of the product "Buildings & Complexes Structures". The diversity of our projects is very large and goes from tertiary buildings to industrial sites, ..., stadia etc. I'm mainly responsible for the Tertiary Building Projects: profitability, quality, technical and commercial development of all related engineering services, recruitment, etc.
Improving the integration of multidisciplanary skills in the work of students in architecture.
Ney & Partners is a design focussed office for civil and structural engineering. As a Partner and Team Manager I'm involved in the design and projectmanagment of several interesting projects within our building department (e.g. deSingel, Umicore, Leopold Village, Coovi, ... see our website for more details).
This job is a part time job beside my professional work as an engineer. The course I'm teaching is a practical course in structural design for the students of the 2nd master in Architectural Engineering. It consists in advising and assisting the students with the structural design of their final design project.
