Work without office infrastructure in Oman and occasionally other nearby countries. Initial focus on full integration of the pre-2014 merger DNV and GL legacy organizations and processes, realization of organizational synergies, operations improvement, and business development, together with transparent internal communication, technical consistency, and mutual support between locations. Direct Maritime reports include geographic area managers, as well as regional managers for business development, production-QHSE, offshore, finance, and human resources. Region Maritime also incorporates DNVGL Academy and Maritime Advisory (consultancy) centers in both India and the UAE. Regional Maritime revenue over the post-merger years 2014 and 2015 remained stable at approximately $65 million per annum despite an industry downturn, with expenses of approximately $50 million including charges and allocations, for an EBITA of $15 million or 23%. This was coupled with a reduction of 20+% in the number of employees from 130 to 100 during this period. The net business gain from competitors was best of 10 Regions, with an increase in the total number of vessels as well as tonnage "classed" with DNVGL, and with this against a post-merger global decrease. Change in the DNVGL maritime business in the Middle East was well noted and highlighted in a cover story by the magazine "Maritime & Ports Middle East", May 2015 issue. See link below.
