Statement Life can never fully bloom for any one individual until their passion is found. My name is Francois Michel Beausoleil and my passion is to paint. Painting has become my own language, scribed through gentle or furious strokes of the brush. It continues to develop as I speak through my art every day of my life. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Canada I have been painting, since I can remember. As an adolescent, I started traveling the world on my own and continued as a flight attendant. I spent three long years in the Middle East where everything is beige and everyone is dressed in black and white. I can say that my style changed on my departure from the harsh and crying doldrums skies of Saudi Arabia. I ceased to work in realistic colors. Since then I have hung my own sun in the sky. It follows me day-by-day warming the skin of my subjects. My world changed forever in a wave of orange and yellow hues that is so often characteristic of my work. The quietness of the desert made me step into the realm of deity and spirituality. I boost the needle, gauging form and realism into something of a frenzy by juxtaposing hider detail with abstraction of environment and hue. The form is idealized, while allowing a flip of the color wheel. It is as if the tinting knob behind one’s eyes had been permanently tweaked; my environments are elaborated and permissive, barring nothing but the unattractive. Like an eager student of linguistics that begins to dream in the language of their studies, my style influences my vision every moment, walking or dreaming. Ideas pile in frantic layers, fresh visions on top of those born years ago, so that time allows only a small percentage of them to ever be. An idea may stem from my love of history, of individual stories cultures, which hide behind every pair of stone, monument or people I see. Light and shadows bring me back to the realm of Deity. I can call the whole of my work “The Human Experience”.
