Austria
I have spent nearly two decades at VERBUND building things that did not exist before — a corporate venturing unit, a group-wide innovation architecture, new business platforms, coalitions that shaped the energy agenda. Each of these started with a question: what does this business need to be competitive in the future, and what needs to be built today to get there? That question has guided my work across corporate venturing, innovation, new business, and public affairs. In 2026, I bring the same mindset to the next chapter — with the networks, the experience, and the conviction to do whatever it takes.
- Built VERBUND's corporate venturing unit from the ground up with full strategic and capital responsibility (€ 30m CAPEX), assembling a portfolio of 10+ European startups and 2 early-stage VC funds - already generating operational impact through commercial partnerships between portfolio companies and VERBUND's core business units - Co-founded the TTTECH ZYNE joint venture for real-time industrial energy management and launched HalloSonne as corporate startup. - Named to the Global Corporate Venturing TOP 100 Powerlist 2025, recognizing sustained influence at the intersection of corporate venturing and global energy innovation
- Designed and built VERBUND's group-wide innovation architecture - strategy, governance, co-financing structures, KPI-systems and portfolio-management; and driving the transition of new technologies into core business - Launched VERBUND X Accelerator with 25 corporate and institutional partners since 2021, producing 40+ PoC & pilots of which many converted into long-term partnerships - Co-developed the Energy Launchpad with ETH Zürich, TU Munich / UnternehmerTUM, TU Vienna as well as EnBW and Energie306 as a pan-European platform for energy innovation and industrial scaling - operational from 2026 - Led a C-suite mindset program, established VERBUND X as an internal talent incubator, introduced a holacratic operating model - organizational work that contributed to VERBUND's first appearance in Austria's TREND ranking of most innovative companies (2025)
- Built VERBUND's group-wide public affairs function from scratch with direct CEO reporting; played a material role in a range of strategic projects for VERBUND - Co-founded and led the European hydropower project group (2011-2018) in cooperation with EURELECTRIC, the project group members representing over 90% of EU hydropower capacity, shaping the European policy agenda on hydropower - Opened strategic relationships to national, European and global players through C-level stakeholder formats - converting network access into business opportunities.
