Since 1980, Frans Hakkemars played about 50 solo performances a year With ease and imagination puppeteer Frans Hakkemars brings life into simple objects and puppets . He blows with his personal idiosyncrasy new life into stories from the European tradition of Reynard the Fox , The Little Prince , Jan Klaassen & Katrijn (The dutch family of Punch and Judy) and his own play Happy Francis. With his accordion , he creates an open and inviting atmosphere. Mobile and versatile transport by bicycle . Frans Hakkemars also played together with other (puppet) theaters as Droomtheater Rotterdam, still works with Kooman's Poppentheater in The Hague and worked from January - June 2012 together with Jan Klaassen & Katrijn, De poppenkast op de Dam, on Dam Square in Amsterdam. He worked together with Master Feike Boschma for 5 years, participated in a lot of workshops and masterclasses e.g. Hansueli Trüb, Rod Burnett, Fabrizio Montecchi, Karrie Marshall.... Frans Hakkemars was also journalist and member of the editor board of the Dutch puppetry magazine WP, the World of Puppetry. He is Member of NVP-UNIMA Netherlands, and was for the Netherlands councillor of the international UNIMA from 2008 - 2024. His fourth specialisation is sociologist specializing in Community Art & Puppetry Expertise: puppeteer; correspondent World of Puppetry; councillor UNIMA, Union Internationale des Marionnettes; researcher Puppetry and Community Art, member of UNIMA Commission Publication and Contemporary Writing, subcommission Puppetry Publications Online (PPO)
