Plantics develops new, completely circular composites, foams and coatings. In close collaboration with partners, these materials are used to develop high quality, circular and CO2 negative products for a variety of applications. As senior mechanical engineer I'm responsible for the mechanisation and upscaling of Plantics products.

• Manager of the 3 New Product Development Engineers, 3 Toolmakers and Manufacturing Engineer dedicated to the Preform product group (stamped solder parts). Goal of this team was to realize new products, processes and machines from concept thru the plant floor. • Monitoring and reporting on progress of multiple NPD-projects. • Responsible for tool availability on the production floor. • Responsible for efficiency improvement (OEE). • Prioritization and scheduling of resources. • Compile customer requirements with Marketing and Sales-force. • Assessment of sample requests from routine to engineered, requiring new tooling. • Manufacturability assessment and initiation of feasibility studies for new products. • Complaint handling and resolution. • Most important success was the build and run-off of completely new machines for the manufacturing of low-melting point Lead-Free solder preforms.
• Combination of Black Belt (50%) and Global Process Coordinator for the Solder Wire and –Bar product groups (50%). • Facilitating the exchange of engineering knowledge between 10 manufacturing plants in the America’s, Asia and Europe. • The development/recognition and exchange of best practices, • New product and process development, • Copy-exact product transfers • Plant audits. • Highlights here were the development of a new halogen free flux, process design for solder-wire from a thermo-shock resistant alloy (Innolot) for automotive under the hood applications and introduction of a new wire process (Milling).
• Graduated from 6 month internal training course at Alpha, certified after completing 2 Black Belt projects. • Stayed on as Black-Belt, eventually completing 13 Black Belt projects by means of cross-functional improvement teams. • Projects resulted in significant cost savings and the introduction of new KPI’s, to monitor and verify lasting change. • Coached around 30 Green Belt projects, participated as teacher in GB training courses. • Most significant savings were realized by doubling the output per man-hour in the powder manufacturing plant by increasing both yield and throughput and roll-out of a Lean Manufacturing program.
• Responsible for manufacturing process improvement in efficiency and quality of all product lines • Handling of customer complaint analysis. • Responsible for the development and introduction of new solder products for solder Wire, Powder and Bar. • Main projects concerned the industry transfer to lead-free solder powder and the decimation of customer complaints regarding solder wire (voids).
• Leading a “turn-key” CAPEX project to develop and launch a custom dip-soldering line for large lighting transformers. • funds appropriation, • writing of specifications in close cooperation with the customer, • vendor selection • outsourcing. • Design and build of new manufacturing machines. • Analysis, re-design and de-bugging of newly built but retired equipment for electromagnetic ballast soldering, in a factory with 95%+ OEE. • Drafting • PLC Programming
