    Internship at TargetEx ltd. and in the enzymology group of the Hungarian Academy of Science, leaded by prof. P. Závodszky. The project was under the supervision of dr. I. Hajdú. The aim of the project was to express the genes Aurora A and Rock1 in the Baculovirus-Sf9 protein expression system. In this project I gained more advanced molecular biology skills, performed enzyme assays and learned to work with the Sf9 insect cell line. Project title: "Expression of Rho-associated kinase 1 and Aurora A kinase using Baculovirus-infected Sf9 cells"

    Internship at the Industrial Microbiology group of prof.dr. J.T. Pronk under the supervision of dr.ir. J. M. Daran and dr. F. Koopman. The aim of this study was to improve the flavonoid biosynthesis in Saccharomyces cerevisiae by metabolic engineering. I designed strains and constructed them using molecular biology techniques. Strain were characterized in shake flasks and improvements were implemented based on experimental results. In addition, enzymatic assays in vitro were performed and transcription levels, using real time RT-PCR, were determined . Thesis title: "Enhancing flavonoid biosynthesis in Saccharomyces cerevisiae by increasing the intracellular malonyl-CoA availability"
