Through visual observation - often supported by photos - I document and analyze real-world interactions with spaces and design elements. My work focuses on how aspects such as layout, lighting, accessibility, usability, and atmosphere influence orientation, comfort, and decision-making. Whether assessing a café, healthcare facility, retail space, or public location, I identify strengths, friction points, and overlooked details that shape the user experience. With more than 15 million views on Google Maps, my contributions demonstrate the value of authentic, experience-based insights for both visitors and providers. I connect aesthetic perception with practical evaluation, paying close attention to how people navigate spaces, understand offerings, and respond emotionally to what they encounter. This perspective helps make products and places more intuitive, welcoming, and aligned with user needs. Beyond observation, I translate insights into clear, actionable feedback. Photos serve as a shared reference point, enabling organizations to see their offerings from the user’s perspective and engage in focused improvements. I help advance bicycle-friendly cities by translating real user experiences into actionable insights for infrastructure design and urban planning. Growing up in Denmark, where cycling is an integral and well-supported part of everyday life, I developed an early understanding of how thoughtfully designed systems influence mobility choices, safety, and overall quality of life. Since moving to Switzerland in 2006, I have increasingly focused on identifying both the strengths and the untapped potential of urban environments to better support safe and attractive cycling. My engagement with platforms such as bikeable-world.org marked a key step in this work. It highlighted how structured, user-generated feedback can reveal critical gaps and opportunities in cycling infrastructure that are often overlooked by conventional planning processes. I contribute by combining on-the-ground observation with contextual knowledge and practical recommendations, helping ensure that cyclists’ real needs are visible and actionable. When institutions actively integrate this input, user feedback becomes a powerful lever for building more effective cycling networks. My work focuses on: 1. Identifying barriers and enabling factors for safe and convenient cycling 2. Documenting lived experiences of cyclists in urban environments 3. Translating user perspectives into clear, decision-relevant insights 4. Developing practical proposals to improve cycling infrastructure and connectivity 5. Strengthening participatory platforms to increase engagement and usability
