From a young age, I have always been fascinated with art. In middle school, I was chosen out of 3 children in Indiana to be accepted in the National Art School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. To be selected for acceptance, each child had to draw Marilyn Monroe and Abraham Lincoln portraits. In my spare time, I love drawing, painting, sculpting, and sketching outdoor landscapes. I consider myself a visual artist. I graduated with my associate degree in art education from Indiana Wesleyan University in April 2022 and currently working on my bachelor’s degree. I am passionate about learning, teaching, and art. I believe learning is a lifelong journey. I hope to inspire students to discover their passions and see themselves as lifelong learners. I am a person who excels at fostering interpersonal relationships and developing a positive rapport with students, clients, team members, and the community. I am motivated to guide and serve others of varying socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. I possess strong creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills and seek to grow as an individual. My key successes include: • Developed and taught a thematic 7-week art education curriculum including history, criticism, aesthetics, and art production. • Designed and implemented a classroom management plan for a 3rd and 4th grade class of 15 students. • Managed 10 supply budgets for the art materials used in the unit. • Mentored 12 fellow pre-service teachers on classroom management, assessing student understanding, and presenting artists and cultures. • Assessed over 50 individual performances using various formats, including formal rubrics and classroom critiques. • Designed and arranged over 100 weddings and holiday events for families and couples within my community.
