Sergeant on the strength of the Transport School, Defence Forces Training Centre, Curragh Camp, County Kildare. Responsible for assisting with the drafting of syllabi for Reservist courses concerning Transport in the Defence Forces, and the conduct of Transport Corps courses for Reservist personnel in the Defence Forces Training Centre and across the Army Reserve as a whole Instructor on driving courses from basic MT driving courses, through minibus and up to truck driving level, as part of a training team with a 100% pass rate on courses on a number of occasions Instruct on Defence Forces Driving Instructor courses, ensuring the continuing supply of qualified driving instructors to the Reserve Defence Force Deliver Manual Handling training to reservists of the Defence Forces Training Centre as required to fulfil KPIs for training courses
I am one of a number of Reservists on the staff of the Transport School, Defence Forces Training Centre, Curragh Camp, County Kildare. Responsible for assisting with the drafting of syllabi for Reservist courses concerning Transport in the Defence Forces, and the conduct of Transport Corps courses for Reservist personnel in the Defence Forces 2013: Completed the Modularised Transport Corps Standard Officers and NCOs Course. This course is designed to train Officers in the administrative and technical standards required for the inspection, maintenance and control of transport in a transport company and to train NCOs to hold MT appointments in their units. 2014: Course Instructor - Defence Forces Training Centre driving courses for light troop carrying vehicle (Nissan Patrol/Mitsubishi Pajero) and minibus (<17 pax) 2015: Course Instructor - Defence Forces Driving Instructor Course (Modularised) 2016: Completed the Irish Certificate of Professional Competency in Road Transport Operations Management Course. 2017: Completed a truck and trailer course culminating in the award of a Defence Forces driving permit equivalent to driving licence class EC1
Serving as a Reservist non commissioned officer (NCO) in Transport Company 62 LSB since March 2000. Since transferring to the unit, due to working changes in my full time employment, I have gained the following qualifications: EB (< 3.5T MAM w/trailer) C (> 7.5T MAM) C1 (3.5T < 7.5T) D1 (minibus up to 16 passengers) Defence Forces Driving Instructor - passed training and testing by Permanent Defence Force testers, in the Transport School, Defence Forces Training Centre, Curragh Camp in 2008 Completed Reserve Standard NCO Course in 2009 which qualifies me to hold the rank of Sergeant Have also been involved in the training of new entrants to the unit, at basic recruit level
