About

Lecturer in Sociocultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna and Privatdozent at the University of Luzern with interests in the environmental humanities, anthropology of religion and psychological anthropology. I conduct fieldwork in Madagascar using ethnographic methods since 2003. Author of Being ethical among Vezo People (Rowman & Littlefield, 2020) and Deforestation et droit coutumier a Madagascar, (Editions Karthala, 2010) and co editor of Perceptions and Representations of the Malagasy Environment (Palgrave, 2023, with G. Campbell and J. Pollini ). Postdoctoral Fellow in Anthropology at the University of Toronto 2013-2014 and Visiting Scholar at the Indian Ocean World Centre McGill University Montreal 2015-2017.
