Lead QA Engineer / SDET supporting ARF Business Consulting across QA, automation, basic development, website/platform maintenance, IT support and connected-technology installations. In this role, I provide senior QA leadership and hands-on technical delivery across internal systems, client platforms and consultancy projects. My work includes defining practical QA processes, testing web applications and APIs, supporting release readiness, investigating defects, and improving repeatable test coverage. Key responsibilities include: Leading QA planning, test strategy, test execution and release-readiness checks. Testing websites, APIs, integrations and business workflows across internal and client platforms. Designing manual, automated, regression, exploratory and API test coverage. Supporting REST API validation, defect investigation, issue reporting and technical troubleshooting. Providing basic development and scripting support for websites, internal tools and workflow improvements. Creating documentation, test templates, support guides and repeatable processes for quality and knowledge sharing. Advising on QA approach, technical risk, testability and practical implementation options. Maintaining websites, business platforms and supporting IT services. Supporting infrastructure work including data cabling, patching, connectivity checks and network setup. Installing and configuring UniFi equipment including Wi-Fi access points, cameras and related network devices. Supporting smart home and small-business automation installations, including connected devices, cameras, Wi-Fi and system setup. Continuing to develop QA tooling and automation using technologies such as C#, .NET, Postman, Newman, Selenium, Playwright, SQL, CI/CD tools and source control. Exploring AI-assisted testing, local LLMs and custom interfaces to improve test design, documentation and technical investigation.
I started my career at Airbox Systems as the Primary Support Engineer. Within 6 months I was offered the opportunity to move into the Quality Assurance / Quality Control position. The business provided me with the ISTQB Foundation course to jump start my knowledge in preparation of my new role. I started the QA role in Jan 2019 and continue to support the business in the Support Engineer role. I have spent the last 6 months building version controlled test cases and implemented processes to ensure accurate and reliable tests. As of late, I have started to implement automation testing within the business. Testing includes Web, API, iOS and Android Mobile applications. Test implementations include Functional and non-functional test with tools such as TestComplete, Robot-Framework, Appium, JMeter and more. My skills have made me an efficient and self managed QA Resource with the ability to design, implement and report on all forms of test cases. My daily activities include effective ticket management within system such as ZenDesk and Jira. This includes raising bugs identified in testing. I am also responsible for test case design and execution, this includes smoke, component, regression, load and performance testing and all forms of automation testing of the above. I use Confluence for content management such as department processes, environment setup and general information to assist new starters settle in there new role. This included QA and Support Engineers. I have experience in system demos as I have attended the Emergency Services Show both in 2018 and 2019 to demonstrate applications built and managed by the company. I started my career with Lloyds as a phone based home Insurance Sales consultant. With the implementation of Service Excellence, I quickly found a love for problem solving and working on projects to improve systems and processes. I was promoted to the Service Excellence Team to assist in creating quick and robust solutions to collect data and provide systems where IT budgets where not possible. I also worked on the Infrastructure change moving from Win XP to Windows 7 In November 2016 I was promoted to Junior Configuration and Platform Developer.
