At Magenta Telekom (€1.5 billion revenue, part of Deutsche Telekom), I delivered the full IT integration of the UPC / T-Mobile merger in 3 years, cut time-to-market from months to weeks, lifted customer NPS by more than 50%, implemented new ways of working with an engineering mindset, and introduced a fully scaled Agentic-AI delivery framework. Led Network and IT across a pan-European operator serving 34M customers in 10 countries. • Integrated IT and Network units into a central Shared Service Center; integrated the newly acquired TDC Sweden • Implemented a low-cost cloud with central orchestration for IT and network (NFV/SDN) • Led multiple spectrum auctions and accelerated centrally developed digital product offerings
• Launched the world’s first 4G-only mobile network, with >90% indoor population coverage • Modernized the fixed division via partnerships with KPN and EuroFiber; introduced quadruple-play bundles • Drove IT modernization with private cloud and company-wide Scrum of Scrum, raising automation and customer experience across call centers, shops and online
• Built a pan-European all-IP 4G network (radio and core) across 8 countries, covering 120M people • Established a shared service center for pan-European operations and raised network reliability to a stable 99.95% • As Director RF Engineering Europe: won spectrum auctions (incl. Germany), met coverage obligations through rapid low-cost nationwide 4G rollout, build broadband nomadic networks in 20+ cities across Europe, and optimized provisioning/billing to match sales demand
• Managed a team of 40 engineers; designed/optimized the 2G network and built out 3G/UMTS with HSPA upgrade to 99% population coverage • Outsourced Radio Network Operations to Alcatel-Lucent to optimize the cost structure
• Expanded coverage from 10% to 80% of population and launched Austria’s first regional 1800 MHz network — the fastest network rollout in Europe at that time (9 months)
