Ophthalmology trainee in Wales, with a research interest in inherited retinal disease, diabetic retinopathy, lipid metabolism and patient-reported outcome measures in ocular disease. Scholar at Magdalene College, and funded through the TMAT programme sponsored by GSK and the Wellcome Trust as part of the Experimental Medicine Training Initiative. The TMAT programme supported a PhD in biochemistry investigating the triglycerides of hepatic de novo lipogenesis and their link to a number of systemic metabolic disease. This was accompanied by teaching undergraduates the fundamentals of biochemistry and molecular biology in Magdalene College. Postgraduate research funding from HCRW Emerging Researcher Award and Fight for Sight Zakarian Award for projects in DR and lipid metabolism as well as PROM optimisation.
