Graduating from Texas Christian University in December 2026 with a double major in Communication Studies and Chinese, I am focused on building meaningful connections and contributing to a supportive team. Each year, I challenge myself academically and personally to strengthen my communication and problem-solving skills. I am excited to take the next step into the business world where I can bring creativity and strategic thinking to professional relationships and help my team achieve results. I am organized, reliable, and eager to keep learning in a professional business environment.
So far in my role as the Human Resources Intern I have worked on a team to design a new rotational program for early-career employees in collaboration with the Chief Human Resources Officer, now being implemented company-wide. I have also helped lead a succession planning analysis for 40 key leadership roles by collaborating with HR Generalists to update successor readiness, identify retention risks, and assess promotion potential for the annual talent review. This will lead to improved internal promotion decisions by developing a more precise, data-driven succession tool that strengthens the leadership pipeline to guide future talent planning. I have additionally analyzed and interpreted market compensation data, helping to ensure competitive pay in accordance with industry trends. Lastly, I coordinated the live recruiting outreach activities at the Minnesota Veterans Career Fair, gaining experience with candidate engagement and employer branding to increase prospective applicants.
During the 10-week Insights Internship, I rotated through various departments, including Accounting and Finance, Credit, Employee Benefits, Fintech, Human Resources, Insurance, Marketing, and Risk. My experience involved shadowing a Mortgage Loan Officer and Insurance Advisor, completing projects, and learning about the roles within Choice Bank and how they contribute to its overall operations. Across different departments, I gained a better understanding of the Choice Bank brand: “provide personal touch that exemplifies our Premier Customer Experience; maintain strict confidentiality when it comes to our employees’ and customers’ information; and maintain a positive, productive, and enjoyable work environment in alignment with Choice Bank Core Values". Specific tasks included: •Gathering and organizing data for departmental special projects or reports, including basic arithmetic computations. •Accompanying professional-level employees on assignments, conducting interviews with clients and internal personnel, and communicating with other departments or outside agencies by phone. •Working with analysts to obtain necessary information to analyze, generate, and maintain records and other reference materials necessary for departmental use. •Attending various required compliance and banking training. •Immersing myself in key job duties and participating in cultural initiatives to succeed as a Choice Bank employee.
