Eindhoven Area
About Stirling: Stirling Cryogenics is located in the Netherlands in the town of Son, at the outskirts of Eindhoven (~100 km south-east of Amsterdam). The Stirling Cryogenators are completely assembled in house. The machine components are manufactured in a circle of 30 km around Eindhoven. Truly a Dutch Product therewith! Stirling Cryogenics has an in-house engineering department. This team consists of process, mechanical, electrical and software engineers. They work on tailor made system designs for specific projects and also on long term improvements of the Stirling Cryogenerator. About me: After graduating as BSc in Mechanical Engineering, I have joined Philips Cryogenics in 1986 to be responsible for Service activities on the two-stage Stirling Cryogenerators. When Stirling Cryogenics became independent from Philips in 1990, this was the basis to join the Sales Department as Technical Sales Engineer, responsible for the system design of bespoke cryogenic systems. This evolved to a position as Sales Manager for different market areas, always with an emphasis on closed loop cooling and customized systems. During these 30+ years at Stirling Cryogenics, I have been working on many different aspects of the trade; sales, system design, detailed design, manufacturing and testing of many of such cryogenic systems. Today my focus remains on these customized systems for different markets such as HTS, magnets, space chambers, science institutes and recently hydrogen liquefaction and all electric airplanes. My drive is that I find it exciting to find the best solution for the customers’ cryogenic cooling requirements. Often this may be a variation of an earlier system set-up, but even after 30 years new and surprising applications arise. The creative process of designing an optimal cryogenic system for and together with the customer based on our equipment is always inspiring.
