I have always aspired to be exposed to an international environment, dealing with different cultures, backgrounds, and business contexts. Born in Italy, I have then spent most of my career in different European locations with extensive traveling all over the world. 20+ years of international experience coupled with diverse business responsibilities and a naturally rich set of soft skills have helped me in building up a solid track record of accelerating business growth both organically and through acquisitions. In my capacity as Business Operations Director Africa-Mediterranean-Western Asia (AMWA) at Heidelberg Materials, I have a wide range of responsibilities over the different Countries and Functions, supporting the Area CEO/Group Managing Board member in the management of the Region. In my previous role as Commercial Director Africa – Eastern Mediterranean Basin I lead the commercial activities in the Region (€ 1.9B turnover in 2023), growing EBITDA by 22% while increasing at the same time EBIT by 32% over a 5-year period. As well, I coordinate AEM purchase of raw materials from Group Trading (over 3 Mt in 2023). Over the years, to accelerate growth and improve the footprint in emerging markets, I supported the Group to scout and execute high potential cross borders acquisitions and divestments. I am Board Member of most relevant subsidiaries in the Region, some of which listed in the local stock exchange. I am mainly appreciated for my solving problem skills, making things work thanks to my ability to create consensus, both upstream and downstream, through credibility and empathic style.
