I worked on the design of the SSR2 cavities and cryomodule for the PIP-II project, which are fundamental components of the new linear particle accelerator that will be built in Fermilab. Main tasks: -Mechanical design of superconducting cavity, coolead at 2K with liquid Helium. -FEM analysis for structural, Radio Frequency and thermal performances. -Technical drawings review for SSR2 jacketed cavity and tuner prototypes. -Coordination of setup and technicians for experimental tests on SSR1 tuner. System stiffness measurement. -Team work for design activities with French and Indian partners.
I worked for three months on the PIP-II project, Particularly working on the assembly procedures of the SSR1 cryomodule and starting the mechanical design of the SSR2 cavities. Main tasks: -FEM thermal analysis of SSR1 string assembly. -Alignment procedure of SSR1 cavities and solenoids string. -Modal and Structural analysis for the SSR1 transportation tooling.
I continued my master thesis work on the Mu2e Electromagnetic calorimeter cooling system for three months
