Already during my bachelor studies, I was always fascinated by organic synthetic chemistry. In fact, my first internship focused on the synthesis and characterisation of 1,4,5-tetrasubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles. This allowed me to delve deeper into the forms of cycloadditions in non-conventional solvents, with the aim of obtaining biologically active molecules. Despite the outbreak of the covid pandemic, during my master's studies, I chose to look for a studying opportunity abroad to obtain a broader range of both personal and academic experience. Thanks to Maȋtre the Conférences Frédéric Coutrot, of the SMArTeam (Supramolecular Machines Architectures Team) (http://www.glycorotaxane.fr/crbst_11.html) at the University of Montpellier, I had the opportunity to work on the first lassopeptide containing the RGD sequence entirely obtained by chemical pathway. Thus, I also had the opportunity to develop practical skills on molecular machine synthesis in a laboratory that meticulously follows the legacy of Nobel laureate Stoddart. Finally, once back in Italy, I wanted to extend my horizons even further, taking the work done in Montpellier to the computational level. I realised the advantages of combining computational chemistry and synthetic chemistry. All this thanks to Professor Emilia Sicilia of the PROMOCS laboratory (University of Calabria), with whom, a few days ago, I discussed my master's thesis entitled “Synthesis and characterisation of the first lasso-peptide obtained by chemical pathway”, obtaining the highest grade: 110/110 cum laude. Also, during my master’s degree, I had the opportunity to be a tutor for the “General and Inorganic Chemistry” course of the master’s degree course in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology directed by Prof. T. Marino at the University of Calabria. My strong inclination to research the topics of my interest I hope is evident from these few lines. However, I would like to point out that I possess excellent teamwork skills and communication skills. In fact, for the past year, I have been founder and developer of the start-up FruitCoat (https://www.linkedin.com/company/fruitcoat/). Within the team I also play the role of communicator, leading my team to win three regional and national start-up competitions in less than a year, as well as a prestigious showcase at the Dubai Expo 2020 (that took place in 2022 due to the covid-19 pandemy).
