I believe in giving children a quality education in which they are given the opportunity to grow academically, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually. I've had the privilege of teaching children in grades 1-8 for 30 years. I've predominantly taught first, second and third graders. For 20 years I served as Music Director for preschool - 8th graders at 2 Lutheran schools. I coached the "A" and "B" volleyball teams (grades 4-8) for 14 years, gave several children piano lessons, served as a Youth leader, taught Vacation Bible School, played piano and organ for worship services, and served as one of the Athletic Directors. At each school, our staff worked collaboratively to ensure that our students received the best education possible to prepare them for high school, college and their futures. I've participated in a wide variety of professional development workshops, seminars and classes. Throughout my teaching career I have given children valuable life skills including showing them the importance of showing respect, being responsible, organized, hard-working and kind. I am currently teaching 3rd grade at Rosa Parks Elementary School in Mankato, MN. As of March 24, 2023, I have taught in the Mankato Area Public Schools' District for 10 years.
I work collaboratively with the staff on a daily basis to give our children the best education possible.
I taught 1st & 2nd grade and I served as our school's Music Coordinator. The main duties of this position included coordinating all of the LES music, directing our faculty/staff, being a member of our Worship Committee, and playing the organ and piano at our worship services.
I primarily taught grades 1-2. I also taught grades 7-8. I was Siloah's Music Director for 14 years, Athletic Director for 1 year, and the Volleyball Coach for all 14 years. I gave piano lessons to several children in grades 1 - 8 during this time as well. I also played piano and organ for the worship services.
