As Finance Chair, von Oppenheim invested a great deal of time and energy in reinvigorating the financial management of the local chapter taking it to a professional standard. In detail, he researched and implemented a new accounting software ("Aplos") migrating away from the old Excel system. This allowed EO Shanghai to have real time overview of its financial situation, as well as better reporting and general financial management. He revamped the Budget with greater transparency and empowerment for the various board chairs accompanied with more accountability. von Oppenheim also wrote and implemented new standard operating procedures such as the vetting and integration of new members which facilitated the coordination between board members involved in the process, and thus avoiding conflicts within the board. In terms of cash management, von Oppenheim optimised returns with strict risk management though better use of of financial products. www.eonetwork.org
