My work sits at the intersection of enterprise technology and business transformation in financial services, most recently in reinsurance. At MS Reinsurance, a USD 3.9bn pure-play reinsurer that grew 77% in three years, I lead the Digital Platforms & Enterprise Technology function as a member of the CIDO Leadership Team. The remit covers a CHF 25m change and BAU portfolio, a team of 70 professionals across six product domains, and a delivery slate that includes simultaneous mission-critical programmes: core reinsurance system, Oracle ERP carve-out, IFRS 17 reserving platform, Workday carve-out, underwriting workbench re-platforming, and IT infrastructure for a newly established investment function. Previously, seven years at AXA Switzerland across four roles including Chief of Staff to the CIO, then AXA XL where I built the Digital Factory from scratch and led a CHF 70m delivery programme with 150 FTE across Zurich and London. Academic background: Dr. oec. HSG magna cum laude, doctoral thesis on IT evaluation in financial services groups. MSc TU Munich, top 5 in class. Swiss Board Diploma 2025. Earlier in my career I trained as an Avionics Technician, a grounding that has informed how I think about systems reliability ever since. Currently pursuing a first NED/VR mandate where technology governance and digital transformation are on the agenda.
Leading the global transformation of the Digital Platforms & Enterprise Technology function at MS Reinsurance, repositioning it from a large-scale turnaround initiative into a scalable, product-centric enterprise technology organization. Managing a cross-functional team of about 70 professionals across six key product domains: Pricing & Modeling, Underwriting & Middle Office Workbench, Core Insurance Platform, Finance & Reserving, Corporate Applications (e.g., Workday), Integration & Archiving, Key responsibilities and initiatives: • Defining the technology strategy and leading long-term product roadmapping aligned with enterprise transformation goals • Establishing close collaboration with business stakeholders by introducing a business owner and sponsor model to drive shared accountability and measurable business value • Building the Applications function from the ground up: hiring, onboarding, and internalizing key talent • Implementing a structured software development lifecycle and DevSecOps operating model, while embedding principles of business agility to drive faster, value-aligned delivery across all domains • Introducing IT governance, security, and financial management frameworks to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and strategic transparency • Owning the total cost of ownership (TCO) across the enterprise applications landscape, including lifecycle planning, modernization strategy, and investment prioritization aligned with business outcomes • Establishing end-to-end vendor management across SaaS solutions and external delivery partners • Playing a central role in enabling digital transformation and innovation through a scalable, product-aligned enterprise technology landscape • Member of the Chief Information & Data Officer’s (CIO & CDO) Leadership Team, working closely with the Chief Transformation Officer to align enterprise technology with long-term transformation strategy
