My professional experience reaches form production planning, process improvement in the FMCG area to Construction management, QA/QC management and engineering management of large scale LSTK plants in the metals and mining area. In the complex international areas that I work in, I always strive to leverage the cultural differences between teams as a positive contributor to the project. Besides strong technical engineering skills this also means building bridges between the teams and getting them to work together in a productive and harmonic way. I have proven skills in intercultural management after successfully closing several jobs overseas (Germany, USA, Peru, Chile). Leading a team of 15 engineers in Germany and the Netherland, who jointly spend a double digit MEur/y in mainly Small and Medium sized projects at the various Chemical sites.

In this role, I am in Charge of several Mayor Maintenance Projects in different Production Units. My current Projects are following: 1) Renovation project for the complete medium pressure steam lines in the south refinery. 2) Turbine/ Generator unit revamp with Siemens. 3) Revamp of a cooling tower unit existing of 10 cells. 4) Process safety upgrade of several Olefine tanks. 5) Repair project of a Gas Cooler All projects combined summ up to about 60 MM Euro. The projects are being develloped via the internal Shell Front End Loading (FEL) Project implementation System.
In this role I am implementing a new Polyesther Polyol technology in the existing plant. The project is being implemented via the Front End Loading (FEL) principal. This role is diverse in the sense that the project consists of diverse stakeholders ranging from R&D to commercial and operations. The project will be implemented by a multicultural team based in Germany, England and USA. The scope of the Project was around 45 MMEUR.
In this function, I am responsible for the technical implementation of Outotec's multidisciplinary international projects. I am ensuring a smooth project execution that follows the strict Outotec quality standards and a challenging time schedule. Technical project teams normally consists of about 40 engineers from all disciplines and from different cultures with engineering hubs in India, Sweden, Finland and Latin America. Currently I am leading two Sulphuric acid projects in Iran and one copper ore roasting project in Chile.
Within this function I am coordinating all engineering/technical aspects of Sulphuric Acid & Gas Cleaning projects. Usually the engineering team consists of around 30 employees from the various Outotec technology centers (Germany, Finland, Sweden and Chile). The projects typically are lump sum EPC contracts in the range of 50 - 300 Million USD.
For Codelco´s multi million (+200 MMUSD) dollar project of Mansa Mina, I am Outotec´s site manager, in charge of construction and the preparation for commissioning. The Outotec project consists of a copper ore roaster-, gas cleaning -, sulphuric acid- and effluent treatment plant plus utilities. Within this role I am leading a team of some 20 international Outotec engineers and approximately 400 subcontractor personal, who are all working jointly in achieving mechanical completion within the timeframe and budget set.
As Process Engineer, my main focus was implementing standard work-processes ( six sigma, Lean processes, IWS) and increasing the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) and PR (Process Reliability). Furthermore I initiated and lead projects to reduce headcount in the department. In addition I was part of an international project team to implement a new toothpaste filling technology at our site. I also lead a team to implement a new planning system in our plant called 'Produce to Demand'.
