Debottlenecked the system, modelled the process conditions daily using PetroSim and provided plant personnel with operating instructions. • Acted as lead engineer on Sulfuric Acid and Amine Units shutdown which included vessel entries, generating emerging work list and originating a report to summarise the key findings from the shutdown. Reforming and Isomerisation • Resolved/optimised the operation of newly-commissioned €2m continuous distillation system. • Instigated/carried out plant-scale trials to produce lower volatility product from an isomerisation process, thus facilitating additional bio-ethanol in the gasoline product. • Achieved substantial energy savings (~€500k pa) through optimisation of reflux ratios in a large-scale distillation process. • Initiated and led the definition & planning phase of a project to assess the use of a new product blend component
• Implemented piping, equipment, and automation changes in a busy 24/7 production environment. Liaised with various stakeholders to facilitate these. • Originated a large quantity of MOC documentation and modified P&IDs, datasheets and other engineering deliverables accordingly. • Provided technical support during shutdown, including vessel-entries and inspection of key equipment.
