Publishing executive, writer, ghostwriter and editor with extensive experience managing lines of publishing and global brands including titles covering feature film and television. As senior acquisitions editor, co-developed two small presses from early days into enduring, mid-sized publishing houses (Sounds True Audio and Insight Editions), now globally distributed (Macmillan and S&S respectively). Author/co-author of four non-fiction books in licensed feature film and ghostwriter on various additional works. Have developed and edited hundreds of quality titles for trade in both digital and print formats, from digital-only novellas to dozens of heavily illustrated art, photo and children’s books. Have assisted in furthering the writing careers of dozens of celebrated artists and educators and numerous first-time authors. Co-authored this studio-authorized, definitive, illustrated retrospective. Responsible for introduction and chapters on MIB, MIB II and MIB3. Interviews included Josh Brolin, Ed Solomon, Walter Parkes, Barry Sonnenfeld, Eric Brevig, Lorne Peterson, Bo Welch, Carlos Huante, Doug Harlocker, Mary Vogt, Etan Cohen, and more.
Authored world-building bible (over 250K words) — memorializing the Avatar canon (characters, creatures, locations, themes, plot lines, rules of the world, etc.) for future licensing/franchise development, including Lightstorm's book publishing partnership with Penguin-Random House and three multiplayer games: Ubisoft's Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and the mobile game Avatar: Pandora Rising, plus Avatar: Reckoning is a multiplayer online role-playing shooter game for mobile developed by Archosaur Games in collaboration with Tencent, Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment, and Disney.
Account Executive for film and WBTV. Managed all aspects of financial, creative, and editorial for licensed publishing of George Miller’s: Mad Max: Fury Road, Chuck Lorre’s The Big Bang Theory, DCTV’s Gotham and The Flash, and WBTV’s full slate of top properties. Drove review/approval for over (10) original novels, art books, comic books, graphic novels and in-world guides with filmmakers (KMM), showrunners (Chuck Lorre & Berlanti Productions, Bad Robot), TVM, WHV, DC Comics (VERTIGO), Legal, BA and Licensees. Accomplished: - Reintegration of TV tie-in publishing from DC Comics/TV Marketing (TVM) back to WBGP. - Secured over $500K in new business/licenses in first 8 months. - Identified, developed and negotiated sale for new pub channel with new licensee –multi-year roll-out of 1st series of digital shorts (novellas) involving top tier publisher, TVM & DCTV producers. - Conducted Sales Forecasts and GAP analyses - Developed and implemented editorial content protocols for new titles with TVM & Producers. - Negotiated migration of expired DC Comics book contracts onto current WBCP boiler plate. - Ran Biweekly meetings with TVM.
